You’ll learn about aquatic ecology with a primary focus on healthy fish development and production critical to stock enhancement for improved conservation. High School graduation is preferred provided the applicant meets or exceeds the stated prerequisites.

HTC - 101 Biology of Wild Fish
HTC - 102 Hatchery Design and Systems
HTC - 103 Fish Hatchery Operations
HTC - 104 Hatchery Health and Safety
HTC - 105 Disease Management in Hatchery Environments
HTC - 106 Stock Enhancement Practicum Environments
Students not having current, valid Occupational First Aid, WHMIS, and Restricted Operator Certificate - Maritime are required to take these courses to meet program requirements. Separate fees will be charged for these courses.

OFA - 010 Occupational First Aid Level 1

Completion Requirements

You will be required to achieve a minimum C (Letter Grade Scale 2) in each of HTC 100 , HTC 101 , HTC 102 , HTC 103 , HTC 104 , and HTC 105 and a pass in HTC 106 and all industry certificate courses to achieve program completion.
You must complete the program within three years.
You must complete 100% of the program at NIC.
