FTC - 010 Nursing Foot Care


This 7 day course is for currently licensed-to-practice RNs and LPNs-with a recommended minimum of 2 years nursing experience. Students MUST present written proof of current licensure on the first day. Course runs Monday to Friday of Week 1 and Monday and Tuesday of Week 2. In this advanced foot care nursing course you will learn the best practice standards for cleansing and sterilizing the high risk foot. Topics include prevention and treatment of foot care disorders, factors affecting foot health, preparation to provide nursing foot care services within a health care setting and in private practice. Participants must complete a clinical practice component and an open-book examination (70% mark required). DO NOT purchase instruments or supplies prior to the course. Bring a large towel and a skin moisturizer. You will practice on each other and are requested NOT TO CUT YOUR TOENAILS FOR 4 WEEKS PRIOR TO THE COURSE and to REMOVE NAIL POLISH.

Prerequisite(s):
  • Proof of RN or LPN current, practicing registration/licensure (from BCCNP); LPNs should have a minimum of 2 years nursing experience.
