Information systems skills are valued in nearly every type of business and industry and graduates with a Computer Information Systems certificate can find employment in a range of areas. Graduates may also choose to pursue further study. You will learn about the essential elements of modern information systems including hardware, software, and networking. You will gain practical applied skills from extensive lab exercises and projects. You will gain experience in the following areas; operating system installation and administration, basic network administration, programming, database development and administration, software development processes and quality assurance and web development.

Admission Requirements

- C+ in one of Pre-Calculus 11 or MAT-053; or C in one of Foundations of Math 12, Apprenticeship Math 12, Pre-Calculus 12, or MAT-060; or Math assessment.

Completion Requirements
- Students will be required to achieve a minimum grade of C in each course, obtain an overall average of C+, and pass LRN 100 in order to achieve program completion.
- Students must complete the Computer Information Systems Certificate program within 5 years of admission to the program.
- At least 50% of the course credits must be completed at North Island College.
