Motor Sport and Power Equipment Technician Foundation Certificate


Gain foundational skills to diagnose, repair, adjust and replace engines, drive trains, suspension and electrical systems on small to medium sized power products like motorcycles, ATVs, generators, and inboard/outboard motors. The Motor Sport and Power Equipment Technician Foundation program provides level 1 technical training credit for apprentices on your path to your Interprovincial (Red Seal) Certification.  Upon successful completion of this program, your acquired knowledge and skill will make you eligible to receive Level 1 technical training credit towards your apprenticeship and 300 hours towards work-based credit toward your total apprenticeship hours requirement.

Completion Requirements


  • Students will be required to achieve a minimum C in each course to pass the program. 
  • Student will be required to pass all industry certificate courses to achieve program completion requirements.
  • 100% of the program must be completed at North Island College.
