HSW - 164 Foundations of Community Support

This course introduces students to a diversity model approach regarding persons with disabilities. Supports and services that empower persons with disabilities are presented and their strengths are emphasized. Issues of devaluation and discrimination of individuals with disabilities are identified and discussed. This course focuses on person-centered practice and a strengths perspective.

Prerequisite(s):

Admission into the Human Service Certificate Program.
