This is the second of the Organic Chemistry courses. CHE 201 topics include: structure, bonding and reactivity in alcohols, ethers and epoxides, ketones and aldehydes, aromatic compounds and amines, carboxylic acids and derivatives; functional group transformations in organic synthesis; carbohydrates and amino acids. Laboratory work illustrates material learned in lectures and develops laboratory skills and techniques.
