BIO - 260 Pathobiology I

3 Credit(s)
The first of a two-part course series that introduces the principles of pathophysiology, microbiology, immunology, and nutrition relevant to health sciences. The focus is on concepts and mechanisms of disease, with prototype diseases emphasized. Key topics include the cellular basis of disease and inflammation, and the etiology and pathogenesis of cardiovascular, respiratory, acid-base balance, and renal diseases. There will be opportunities to investigate other diseases that may be encountered in the clinical area.
