The Fabricator-Welder Foundation Harmonized program offers Level 1 technical training in metal fabrication and welding for those wish to broaden their skills for employment in these Red Seal metal trades. Build, assemble and repair products made of steel and/or other metals while you become familiar with the properties of metals and learn how to operate specialized metalworking machines. During the 32-week program, you will develop welding and fabrication techniques to prepare you for entry-level employment in a wide variety of manufacturing and construction industries. On successful completion of this program and upon entering into an apprenticeship, you will be eligible to receive metal fabricator and welder Level 1 technical training credit and work-based hours toward your apprenticeship requirement in either trade.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are prepared for a career as a metal fabricator or welder apprentice in industries such as welding and metal fabrication shops, mining, oil and gas, construction, sawmills, boat building and more.
