The Greens Department is responsible for the greenery, natural or artificial, as required on set and as specified by the film or television script. The department is responsible for obtaining and taking care of plants, grass, trees, flowers, living or artificial, and other landscaping materials, including coverings. The responsibilities of the department include the design, planning, coordination, acquisition, installation, planting, maintenance, dismantling, and reallocation of greens-related products. The greensperson is a member of the greens team and a vital member of the filmmaking process. Greenspeople often work on active sets to assist the camera crew and other departments in adjusting the set to the changing demands of various camera positions and lighting setups.
