Electrician Foundation Harmonized Certificate

Admission Requirements

1. C+ in English 11 or equivalent or successful English assessment
    , and
2. C+ in one of Principles of Math 11, Foundations of Math 11, Pre-Calculus 11, NIC MAT 053 , NIC MAT 055 ; or NIC Math assessment.
3. High School graduation is preferred provided the applicant meets or exceeds the stated prerequisites.

Additional Information

• Once accepted to the program, and prior to the end of the first month of the program, students will be expected to ensure they hold and submit a current WHMIS certificate that does not expire before the end of the program. 
• Curriculum and certifications may be subject to change as mandated by SkilledTradesBC. 
• In this program, field trips to industry specific locations may occur, students’ participation in field trips is mandatory.

• EFH - 100 Electrician Common Core-Level 1 Harmonized
• EFH - 101 Safety, Basic Trade Tools, Fasteners and Fittings
• EFH - 102 Electrical Codes, Plans & Specifications
• EFH - 103 Applied Mathematics and Sciences for the Electrical Trade
• EFH - 104 Applied Wiring Methods
• EFH - 105 Workplace and Employment Skills

• Note: Based on availability of placements with industry, Trades Foundation students may have an opportunity to participate in optional Work Experience:

Completion Requirements

• Students are required to achieve a minimum C (Letter Grade Scale 2) in each course to pass the program
• All courses need to be completed at NIC within the start and end dates of your program.
• Students who exit the program without completing must reapply and complete all courses again.
