Learn hands-on skills for a range of entry-level careers in the forestry industry. You'll learn silviculture, harvesting, occupational safety, surveying, timber cruising, grading and overall resource management. As a graduate, you'll be equipped to work safely and efficiently in a range of entry-level forestry and harvesting positions.

Admission Requirements

- Or successful completion of FSK 030
- High School graduation is preferred provided the applicant meets or exceeds the stated prerequisites.
Additional Information
- Once accepted to the program, and prior to the end of the first month of the program, students will be required to ensure they hold and submit a current WHMIS certificate that does not expire before the end of the program.
- The department will arrange an opportunity for students to complete a basic fire suppression and safety course. Separate fees will be charged.
- In this program, field trips to industry specific locations may occur, students’ participation in field trips is mandatory.
- Prior learning assessment is possible for industry professionals.
Completion Requirements
- Students are required to maintain an overall average of C or higher, with no more than one C- grade (Letter Grade Scale 1) in required program courses, regardless of credit values, to achieve program completion requirements.
- All courses must be completed within 3 years of admission to the program.
- A minimum of 50% of the program must be completed at North Island College.
