Advance your expertise in heavy-duty mechanics with specialized training for careers as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (HDET), Truck and Transport Mechanic (TTM), Transport Trailer Technician (TTT) or Diesel Engine Mechanic (DEM).

Through NIC’s apprenticeship programs, you can work toward your Interprovincial Red Seal certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, earn certification as a Diesel Engine Mechanic or complete up to Level 3 in the Truck and Transport Mechanic apprenticeship. Upon successful completion of all apprenticeship levels and the required industry hours, you may write the SkilledTradesBC exam to achieve your Red Seal certification.

Admission Requirements

1. Registered as an apprentice with SkilledTradesBC

2. Must be working for an employer with at least one qualified journeyperson.
