Heavy Mechanical Trades Apprenticeship

Advance your expertise in heavy-duty mechanics with specialized training for careers as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (HDET), Truck and Transport Mechanic (TTM), Transport Trailer Technician (TTT) or Diesel Engine Mechanic (DEM).
Through NIC’s Heavy Mechanical Trades apprenticeships, you’ll work towards your Interprovincial Red Seal certification as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, Truck and Transport Mechanic or Transport Trailer Technician. If you’re a registered apprentice in the Diesel Engine Mechanic trade, upon successful completion of all apprenticeship levels and the required industry hours, you may write the SkilledTradesBC exam to achieve your Certificate of Qualification.

Admission Requirements
1. Registered as an apprentice with SkilledTradesBC 2. Must be working for an employer with at least one qualified journeyperson. NOTE: If you have previously applied to our Apprenticeship Program within the last year and now want to register for subsequent levels, please complete the Apprentice Training Registration Form and email it to forms@nic.bc.ca Course Requirements
