Gain essential trades-based workplace skills for construction sites. This includes site preparation and cleanup, setting up and removing access equipment, and assisting with concrete, masonry, steel, wood and other projects. As a Construction Craft Worker, you’ll handle materials and equipment, perform demolition, excavation and compaction activities and may also be responsible for safety and security checks. NIC offers both Level 1 and 2 technical training, providing credits towards your Interprovincial Red Seal certification when you register as an apprentice. Upon successful completion of all apprenticeship levels and the required industry hours, you may write the SkilledTradesBC exam to achieve your Red Seal certification.

Admission Requirements

1. Registered as an apprentice with SkilledTradesBC

2. Must be working for an employer with at least one qualified journeyperson.

NOTE:  If you have previously applied to our Apprenticeship Program within the last year and now want to register for subsequent levels, please complete the Apprentice Training Registration Form and email it to forms@nic.bc.ca.

Course Requirements

Apprentices enrolling in technical training must take their training in sequential order, levels 1, then 2. You must complete all levels of technical training to be eligible to write the Interprovincial (Red Seal) examination.
