Automotive Service Technician Foundation Harmonized Certificate

Learn and hone essential skills from brake system servicing and steering to suspension service, wheel alignment, electronic systems and more as you earn apprenticeship technical training credit toward Interprovincial (Red Seal) certification. You’ll be prepared for a wide range of opportunities in the mechanics trade from automotive service technician and parts technician to service writer or service manager.

Admission Requirements

C in English 10 or equivalent or successful English assessment
C in Math 10 or equivalent or successful Math assessment
Or successful completion of FSK 030 if the above requirements are not met.
High School graduation is preferred provided the applicant meets or exceeds the stated prerequisites.

Students without current valid certificates in the following courses are required to take them to meet program completion requirements. Separate fees will be charged.
WSF - 019 Orientation to WHMIS Online
FAC - 020 Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C
Based on availability of placements with industry, Trades Foundation students may have an opportunity to participate in optional Work Experience:
WXT - 100 Trades Work Experience

Completion Requirements

Students will be required to achieve a minimum C (Letter Grade Scale 2) in each course to pass the program.
