It takes a lot to keep a building running properly - and those skills are in demand. Our new Residential Building Maintenance Worker Apprenticeship program prepares you for a dynamic, engaging career.

You’ll also receive the technical training to start your Level 1, 2 and 3 apprenticeship pathway and prepare for your Certificate of Qualification exam to earn your SkilledTradesBC certification.

Graduates will enter the workforce with a resourceful and versatile set of skills - allowing you to repair, maintain, install and remove a wide range of components and systems, such as electrical appliances or plumbing fixtures - and choose from opportunities in residential, simple commercial, institutional and mixed-use buildings.

Admission Requirements

1. Registered as an apprentice with SkilledTradesBC

2. Must be working for an employer with at least one qualified journeyperson.

NOTE:  If you have previously applied to our Apprenticeship Program within the last year and now want to register for subsequent levels, please complete the Apprentice Training Registration Form and email it to forms@nic.bc.ca.

Course Requirements

Scheduled classes may be subject to change, depending on demand.

Apprentices enrolling in technical training must take their training in sequential order, beginning with level 1, then 2, then 3, then level 4. Students must complete all levels of technical training in order to be eligible to write the Interprovincial (Red Seal) examination.
