Prep Cook Certificate

Develop essential workplace skills, safety knowledge and job readiness to launch a career in the food services industry. You will learn how to prepare soups, sauces, baked goods, and more in modern teaching kitchens while also gaining valuable work experience in local restaurants. You will be qualified for employment as a prep cook, porter or food service worker in a commercial kitchen, restaurant or resort.

Please apply online via the Apply Now link above. Applications will be reviewed in order of receipt. Students may be eligible for funding to cover the cost of training. Funding eligibility is reviewed as part of the application process.

Admission Requirements


Funding criteria must be met in order to participate in this program.  To qualify you must be:

          - not a full-time post-secondary student
          - not a high school student
          - not participating in another Canada-British Columbia Job Fund Agreement-funded program

Completion Requirements


Students will be required to achieve a minimum C (Letter Grade Scale 2) in PCK 100   and will be required to pass all industry certificate courses to achieve program completion requirements.
