Coastal Forest Technology Diploma

Gain the skills and technical knowledge to become a valuable member of BC’s forest management team. Designed with the input of industry leaders and with a focus on applied and experiential learning, you’ll learn a wide range of forestry theory and applied learning to prepare you for a successful and rewarding career in the coastal forest sector.

Admission Requirements

C in English 12 or equivalent or successful English assessment
C+ in Foundations of Math 11 or equivalent or successful Math assessment
High School graduation is preferred provided the applicant meets or exceeds the stated prerequisites.
Or Completion of the Coastal Forestry Worker Certificate with a C+ in CFW 113 and a
C in English 12 or equivalent or successful English assessment

Note: If you do not have current, valid First Aid, Transportation Endorsement, WHMIS, Fire Suppression & Safety, Wildfire Entrapment Avoidance, and Fall Protection certification you are required to take these courses to meet program requirements. Separate fees will be charged.

Year 2

Completion Requirements

You will be required to pass all industry certificate courses and maintain an overall average of C or higher with no more than 2 C minus (C-) grades in required program courses to achieve program completion.
The Coastal Forest Technology Diploma must be completed within 3 years of admission to the program.
A minimum of 50% of the program must be completed at North Island College.
