Employment Transition Grounds & Custodial Assistant

This program provides students with diverse learning needs an opportunity to attend employability courses, gain work related certificates, and receive industry specific skill development training in basic grounds maintenance/horticulture and custodial/light duty cleaner areas. Students participate in a job shadow placement as well as a work experience, in either grounds maintenance, or custodial industries.

Admission Requirements
- Identified executive functioning challenge, barrier to learning.
- Students must have an interest in working in the grounds maintenance or custodial industries.
- Attend intake interview with instructional team to determine suitability
North Island College staff are available and happy to support unique student needs as well as assist with course planning and the admission process. Please contact the Department of Accessible Learning Services for more information.
Completion Requirements
- A student will be required to pass all courses for program completion.
- A student must complete the program within the 27-week cohort offering. Case by case exceptions may be made, dependent on availability of DAL program/course offerings.
- 100% of the program must be completed at North Island College.
