Admission Requirements

Minimum 2 year Diploma or 3 year Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution. Including the following:
C in English 12 or equivalent
C+ in Foundations of Math 11; or C in one of Pre-Calculus 11, Principles of Math 11, Applications of Math 12, NIC MAT 053 or NIC MAT 055 ; or successful math assessment.

The number of qualified applicants normally exceeds the number of seats available therefore fulfillment of the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission. Admission is offered through a selective admission process.

BUS - 100 Financial Accounting Fundamentals
BUS - 370 International Marketing
THM - 203 Convention & Special Events Management
THM - 238 Service Management and Operations
THM - 250 International Hotel Management
THM - 275 Food Fundamentals and Service or
THM - 276 Food & Beverage Management
THM - 300 Global Tourism
Plus 2 electives totaling 6 credits - Electives may be chosen from any other NIC tourism courses or any other non-tourism courses that transfer to a degree-granting institituion.

NOTE: ENG 160 is a prerequisite for a number of courses in the program. Students who have not taken a first year college-level English course as part of their undergraduate diploma or degree will be required to use one of their electives to take ENG 160 in the first term.

Completion Requirements

The 1 year Global Tourism & Hospitality Management Advanced Certificate must be completed within 5 years of admission to the program.
To successfully complete the program, students must pass all courses and attain an overall average of at least C (2.0 GPA).
