Admission Requirements

1. C in English 10 or equivalent
     
2. C in Math 10 or equivalent
     

Or successful completion of FSK 030  if the above requirements are not met.

3. High school graduation is preferred provided the applicant meets or exceeds the stated prerequisites.

Course Requirements

• WFH - 100 Occupational Skills
• WFH - 101 Cutting and Gouging Processes
• WFH - 102 Fusion, Braze and Braze Welding (TB) Using the Oxy-Fuel (OFW) Process
• WFH - 103 Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
• WFH - 105 Semi-Automatic and Automatic Welding
• WFH - 106 Basic Metallurgy
• WFH - 107 Welding Drawings Layout and Fabrication
• WFH - 110 Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW)

  Students not having current, valid First Aid and WHMIS certification are required to take these courses to meet program requirements. Separate fees will be charged for First Aid and WHMIS. 

• WSF - 019 Orientation to WHMIS Online
• FAC - 020 Emergency First Aid with CPR Level C

  Based on availability of placements with industry, Trades Foundation students may have an opportunity to participate in optional Work Experience: WXT 100 Work Experience -Trades Foundation  

   

  In this program, students may participate in field trips to industry specific locations. 

Completion Requirements

Students will be required to achieve a minimum C (Letter Grade Scale 2) in each course to pass the program.
