GLS - 160 Culture, Comm & Global Citizenship 3 Credit(s) This course will provide students with the opportunity to explore what it means to be both a human being and a global citizen within the context of complex intercultural interactions that are either face-to-face or in a virtual environment. Students will be challenged to reconsider their views on what is considered to be legitimate knowledge, “appropriate” ways of being and what it means to communicate well with others. Through critical reflection on historical and current world events, as well as their own values and beliefs, students will be encouraged to develop compassion and empathy for others, a greater appreciation for and understanding of diversity, and a curiosity about other ways of being.
