Gain your Red Seal with the Construction Craft Worker (Labourer) Levels 1 and 2 apprenticeship technical training. This trade is unique in that only two four-week levels (plus work-based training hours) are required to achieve a Red Seal, so this training provides an efficient pathway for you to earn you designation and start your career as a skilled trades person.
Course content includes workplace safety, hands-on learning with common construction trade tools and equipment, trades math, material handling and document use including specifications, drawings, and blueprints. It also provides fundamental theoretical and applied skills to support construction, concrete, masonry, and piping work on the job site. You will also receive employer recognized industry certifications in WHMIS, Occupational First Aid Level 1, Traffic Control, and Confined Spaces.
The Industry Employer Partner, Canadian Maritime Engineering (CME) in Port Alberni, looks forward to meeting students to discuss employment opportunities. CME provides shipbuilding and repair, electrical, millwright, welding, fabrication, machining, and many other services to developments in the Port Alberni region. This includes a partnership with the Port Alberni Port Authority to develop a new floating dry dock which is a key piece of infrastructure for a new Port which aims to bring renewed economic activity to the region.
